Now that we are into the summer road construction season, the listing of projects has grown. Note the lane restrictions in place along Olio Road and Geist Reservoir, now until July 2.
Here is the complete listing of area road construction projects, as provided by the City of Fishers:
Brightspeed will be installing fiber throughout the following areas: South Avalon Estates, Knoll at Thorpe Creek, Overlook at Thorpe Creek, Woods at Thorpe Creek, and Geist Overlook this week. Work will be conducted in the utility easement behind the sidewalk.
State Road 37 and 141st Street
Traffic Switch – Complete
The eastside of 141st St. at SR37 is currently closed for the next phase of construction. Traffic has transitioned to the westside, with SR37 north and southbound lanes remaining open. Please review detour routes to plan ahead during this time. Thank you for your continued patience and remember to drive cautiously and safely through construction areas. I-465 & I-69
Drivers will see an increase in construction along the I-69 corridor in the coming months. This work will focus on reconfiguring the interchange at I-465 and I-69. New ramps will provide direct movements from eastbound I-465 and northbound I-465 to northbound I-69. Binford Blvd. will also be reconstructed to separate local traffic from traffic entering and exiting I-69 and I-465. Access to I-69 from Binford Blvd. will remain open.

TRAIL WORK ON LANTERN ROAD
WESTMINSTER AT FISHERS
During the week of June 16th there will be lane restrictions on Traymoore Dr as the contractor will be completing work on the installation of a new sewer. All work is weather dependent.
121ST STREET AND HOOSIER ROAD – FUTURE ROUNDABOUT
A full closure is in place at 121st and Hoosier Road for the construction of a roundabout, this will be a 60 day closure. The detour route is 126th Street, Cumberland Road, 116th Street, see map here.
131ST STREET AND HOWE ROAD – FUTURE ROUNDABOUT
A full closure is in place at 131st and Howe for the construction of a roundabout, this will be a 60 day closure. The detour route is Cumberland Road, 141st Street, and Promise Road, see map here.
136TH STREET WIDENING – ROAD CLOSURE
There will be a 10 day closure on 136th Street from Prairie Baptist Road to Fire Station #97 beginning on or after June 2
As of Tuesday, April 1, 136th Street between Prairie Baptist Road and Cyntheanne Road has been closed to through traffic as construction begins on the reconstruction of the roadway. Access to all of the homes and fire station off of 136th Street will be maintained only to eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic will need to follow the attached detour route. Access into Hunters Run and Silverton will be off of Prairie Baptist or Cyntheanne Road. See a map of this closure here.
OLIO ROAD LANE RESTRICTIONS BETWEEN GEIST RESERVOIR BRIDGE AND 126TH STREET – HAMILTON COUNTY PROJECT
Hamilton County – Please be advised, beginning on or after Saturday, June 14, 2025, drivers should expect intermittent lane closures for paving operations. The lane closures will take place on Olio Road between Geist Reservoir bridge to 126th Street. The estimated completion date is Wednesday, July 2, 2025. Please use extreme caution while driving through this construction zone.
96TH STREET LANE RESTRICTIONS
As of June 6th, drivers can expect lane restrictions as the contractor has closed the inside lanes for both eastbound and westbound traffic for work on the construction of the Nickel Plate Trail Bridge. There will be one lane for westbound traffic and two lanes for eastbound traffic between Masters Road and Hague Road.
Beginning on or after June 23rd, drivers on 106th Street between Cumberland Road and Fall Road should expect lane restrictions from 9 AM to 3 PM due to ongoing trail construction. Please plan for potential delays and exercise caution in this area.
2025 ROAD RESURFACING PROJECT
As of Monday, May 5th, our contractor has begun curb and curb ramp work in the Sawgrass Subdivision. Homeowners will be notified via door hangers prior to any curb reconstruction near their home. After ADA ramp and curb reconstruction is completed, those areas will be restored with topsoil and seed. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to water the seed for the seed to germinate. Prior to road resurfacing, residents will be notified via street signage for street parking restrictions. For additional project information, view the Capital Project Dashboard here. Beginning June 23, the contractor will begin milling and asphalt operations in Sawgrass and Haig Point and concrete work in Summerlin Trails.

The City of Fishers has partnered with the City of Carmel, Clay Township, Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation, Hamilton County, and Delaware Township to connect Heritage Park at White River and Carmel’s Hazel Landing Park with a bridge over White River. This new amenity will provide enhanced connectivity between the two communities, as well as new recreational opportunities for our residents. Click here for an aerial view.
