Fishers area weekly road construction report

Now that we are into the early days of July, most major road construction projects are well underway in and around the Fishers area.  At this point, the weekly update is mostly ongoing construction, with some localized Fishers projects on the list.

With City Hall closed for the July 4th holiday, the report was provided a day early.

Here is the weekly road construction report, as provided by the City of Fishers:

JULY 4TH FIREWORKS 

Fishers Parks is proud to offer three fireworks shows throughout our community on July 4th each year – view more details here.

All fireworks shows will begin at dusk, approximately 10 p.m.

STATE ROAD 37 IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

State Road 37 and 141st Street

The eastside of 141st St. at SR37 is currently closed for the next phase of construction.  Traffic has transitioned to the westside, with SR37 north and southbound lanes remaining open. Please review detour routes to plan ahead during this time.  Thank you for your continued patience and remember to drive cautiously and safely through construction areas.  All construction updates will be posted to DriveFishers on X(Twitter) and 37Thrives on Facebook.  Please visit 37thrives.com to sign-up for email updates. CLEAR PATH IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

I-465 & I-69
Drivers will see an increase in construction along the I-69 corridor in the coming months. This work will focus on reconfiguring the interchange at I-465 and I-69. New ramps will provide direct movements from eastbound I-465 and northbound I-465 to northbound I-69. Binford Blvd. will also be reconstructed to separate local traffic from traffic entering and exiting I-69 and I-465. Access to I-69 from Binford Blvd. will remain open.

Long-Term Closures

  • Ramp from 56th Street to I-465 northbound
  • Ramp from Allisonville Road to I-465 eastbound
  • Ramp from northbound Binford Boulevard to I-465 westbound

BRIGHTSPEED FIBER INSTALLATION

Brightspeed will be installing fiber throughout the following areas: South Avalon Estates, Knoll at Thorpe Creek, Overlook at Thorpe Creek, Woods at Thorpe Creek, and Geist Overlook this week. Work will be conducted in the utility easement behind the sidewalk.

PROJECTS NORTH OF 116TH STREET
146TH STREET & ALLISONVILLE ROAD – HAMILTON COUNTY PROJECT 
Hamilton County, Indiana – Please be advised, the traffic phasing switch has occurred and we are in a new traffic pattern.  Please use extreme caution when driving through the work zone. Drivers should expect traffic delays when traveling through the construction zone during these periods.

Anticipated Completion Date: FALL 2025

121ST STREET AND HOOSIER ROAD – FUTURE ROUNDABOUT

A full closure is in place at 121st and Hoosier Road for the construction of a roundabout, this will be a 60 day closure. The detour route is 126th Street, Cumberland Road, 116th Street, see map here.

131ST STREET AND HOWE ROAD – FUTURE ROUNDABOUT

A full closure is in place at 131st and Howe for the construction of a roundabout, this will be a 60 day closure. The detour route is Cumberland Road, 141st Street, and Promise Road, see map here.

136TH STREET WIDENING – ROAD CLOSURE

As of Tuesday, April 1, 136th Street between Prairie Baptist Road and Cyntheanne Road has been closed to through traffic as construction continues on the reconstruction of the roadway.  Access to the homes and Fire Station #97 will be maintained only to eastbound traffic.  Westbound traffic will need to follow the signed detour route.  Access into Hunters Run and Silverton is off of Prairie Baptist Road or Cyntheanne Road.  See a map of this closure here.

OLIO ROAD LANE RESTRICTIONS BETWEEN GEIST RESERVOIR BRIDGE AND 126TH STREET – HAMILTON COUNTY PROJECT

Hamilton County – Please be advised, drivers should expect intermittent lane closures on Olio Road for paving operations.  The lane closures will take place on Olio Road between Geist Reservoir bridge to 126th Street.  The estimated completion date is Monday, July 28, 2025.  Please use extreme caution while driving through this construction zone.

PROJECTS SOUTH OF 116TH STREET

LANTERN ROAD LANE RESTRICTIONS 
On the week of July 7 drivers can expect to see lane restrictions on Lantern Road, South of 116th Street, this will impact the northbound lane of traffic. Work will take place from 9am to 3pm with flaggers on site, please proceed with caution.

 

96TH STREET LANE RESTRICTIONS – UPCOMING OVERNIGHT CLOSURES
As of June 6th, drivers can expect lane restrictions as the contractor has closed the inside lanes for both eastbound and westbound traffic for work on the construction of the Nickel Plate Trail Bridge. There will be one lane for westbound traffic and two lanes for eastbound traffic between Masters Road and Hague Road.

 

Drivers can also expect overnight FULL closures on the following nights: July 10th, 11th, 14th,15th, and 16th. These will be in place from 8pm to 6am each night. All work is weather dependant.

TRAIL CONSTRUCTION 

Beginning on or after July 7th, drivers on 106th Street between Cumberland Road and Fall Road should expect lane restrictions from 9 AM to 3 PM due to ongoing trail construction. Please plan for potential delays and exercise caution in this area.

2025 ROAD RESURFACING PROJECT 
Beginning on the week of July 7 our contractor will begin base repair operations in the Sawgrass Subdivision and Hoosier Road (between Hamilton Pass and 116th St). Expect lane restrictions with flaggers on Hoosier Rd from 9AM to 3PM. Beginning on or after July 14 the contractor will begin concrete operations in Summerlin Trails.

Beginning on July 11, residents can expect to see our contractor begin work in the Sunblest Neighborhood – work will take place on Ellipse Drive, Kemble Court, and Kenetta Court.

Homeowners will be notified via door hangers prior to any curb reconstruction near their home. After ADA ramp and curb reconstruction is completed, those areas will be restored with topsoil and seed. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to water the seed for the seed to germinate

HERITAGE PARK BRIDGE – TRAIL CLOSURE
The City of Fishers has partnered with the City of Carmel, Clay Township, Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation, Hamilton County, and Delaware Township to connect Heritage Park at White River and Carmel’s Hazel Landing Park with a bridge over White River. This new amenity will provide enhanced connectivity between the two communities, as well as new recreational opportunities for our residents. Click here for an aerial view.
