Heads Up, Geist Residents! The exciting Geist Waterfront Triathlon at Geist Waterfront Park is coming up on Sunday, August 31st, starting at 7:30 AM at Geist Waterfront Park. The triathlon will bring out 250-300 athletes, including collegiate women’s teams, to compete in this challenging swim-bike-run event!
STATE ROAD 37 IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
State Road 37 and 141st Street
The eastside of 141st St. at SR37 is currently closed for the next phase of construction. Traffic has transitioned to the westside, with SR37 north and southbound lanes remaining open. I-465 & I-69
Drivers will see an increase in construction along the I-69 corridor in the coming months. This work will focus on reconfiguring the interchange at I-465 and I-69. New ramps will provide direct movements from eastbound I-465 and northbound I-465 to northbound I-69. Binford Blvd. will also be reconstructed to separate local traffic from traffic entering and exiting I-69 and I-465. Access to I-69 from Binford Blvd. will remain open.
The eastbound I-465 ramp to Binford Boulevard is scheduled to close for up to 60 days beginning next Friday night, July 11, as part of the Clear Path 465 project on the northeast side of Indianapolis. The closure will allow crews to reconstruct the ramp. In addition, lane and ramp closures are scheduled for the weekend of July 11 at the I-465/I-69 interchange for crews to restripe pavement and move concrete barrier wall on Binford Boulevard.

One lane open on eastbound/southbound I-465 from I-69 interchange to Fall Creek
Single-lane closure on southbound I-69 ramp to southbound I-465 Mobile shoulder cleaning operation
60 day closure starting Friday, July 11 at 9 p.m.
- Eastbound I-465 ramp to southbound Binford Boulevard closed
Safe Zones enforcement remains active in the Clear Path construction zone. The program uses automated systems to monitor speeds in specified work zones. The goal of the program is to keep workers, drivers, and their passengers safe by reducing excessive speeding and crashes in work zones. PROJECTS NORTH OF 116TH STREET
Hamilton County, Indiana – Please be advised, beginning on or after Thursday, August 14, 2025, a new traffic pattern will be implemented for the north lane on the White River bridge for westbound traffic. Superior Construction will be moving the work zone at the White River Bridge from the center lane to the north lane during the hours of 9:00AM and 3:00PM. Drivers should expect temporary lane restrictions to adjust barrier walls and install pavement markings during the shift. Drivers are encouraged to be vigilant and watch for flaggers.
Please use extreme caution and follow the posted work zone speed limit while driving through this construction zone.

121ST STREET AND HOOSIER ROAD ROUNDABOUT – NOW OPEN
As of August 6 this roundabout is open to drivers – this continues to be an active construction zone, please proceed with caution. Drivers can expect intermittent lane restrictions.
131ST STREET AND HOWE ROAD – UPCOMING CLOSURE
As of August 9 this roundabout is open to drivers – this continues to be an active construction zone, please proceed with caution. Drivers can expect intermittent lane restrictions. *Please be advised that on Saturday, August 23rd from 6am to 6pm, our contractor will be closing the 131st and Howe Roundabout to conduct paving operations. Detour signs are still posted.* Striping will follow on a nightly basis during the week.
136TH STREET WIDENING – ROAD CLOSURE
As of Tuesday, April 1, 136th Street between Prairie Baptist Road and Cyntheanne Road has been closed to through traffic as construction continues on the reconstruction of the roadway. Access to the homes and Fire Station #97 will be maintained only to eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic will need to follow the signed detour route. Access into Hunters Run and Silverton is off of Prairie Baptist Road or Cyntheanne Road. See a map of this closure here.
PROJECTS SOUTH OF 116TH STREET
96TH STREET LANE RESTRICTIONS
Currently there are two lanes available to drivers Eastbound and Westbound on 96th Street at the Nickel Plate Trail, drivers should watch for intermittent lane restrictions.
Anticipated Completion: November 2025
On the week of August 25 the contractor will continue grading and paving along 106th Street from Hamilton Pass to Mollenkopf Road, this will be followed by concrete work.
The contractor will be continuing grading along west side of Hoosier Road. Drivers on Hoosier Road (from just north of Blue Meadow Drive to 121st Street) and 106th Street between Cumberland Road and Fall Road should expect lane restrictions from 9 AM to 3 PM due to ongoing trail construction. Please plan for potential delays and exercise caution in this area.
Updates on construction timelines will follow as the contractor refines their schedule. All schedules are weather dependent.
On the week of August 25 the contractor will be working on the following:
- Concrete operations will begin in River Highlands starting on August 23 and will continue through the week of the 25th.
- Pavement marking operations on the Lantern Road and 106th street roundabout, Cumberland Road, Hoosier Road. Flaggers will be on site from between 9 pm and 6 am.

- The Sunblest Neighborhood – Towards the end of next week HMA Patchwork and will be followed by milling and resurfacing on Ellipse Drive, Kemble Court, and Kenetta Court. View map here.
Downtown Fishers – day work (9am-3pm)
- On August 25, the contractor will be conducting asphalt milling operations on Maple Street from 116th Street to North Street and on North Street from the Nickel Plate Trail to Commercial Drive.
- On August 26, asphalt paving operations will take place in the parking stalls along North Street from the Nickel Plate Trail to Commercial Drive and in the parking stalls along northbound and southbound lanes of commercial drive by Central Green.
- On August 27, asphalt paving operations will take place on Maple Street from 116th Street to North Street and on North Street from The Nickel Plate Trail to Commercial Drive.
*Parking stalls along North Street, Maple Street and Municipal Drive use will be restricted to protect vehicles from debris from milling and paving operations. Milling and paving operations will have lanes restrictions with flaggers*
On the week of September 1 the contractor will be working on the following:
Downtown Fishers – night work (9pm – 6am)
- On September 2, the contractor will be conducting asphalt milling operations on the northbound lanes of Commercial Drive from 116th Street to the Nickel Plate Trail Crossing.
- On September 3, asphalt milling operations will take place on the southbound lanes of Commercial Drive from 116th Street to the Nickel Plate Trail Crossing and will be asphalt paving the northbound lanes of Commercial Drive from 116th Street to the Nickel Plate Trail Crossing
- On September 4, asphalt paving operations will take place on Northbound and Southbound Commercial Drive from 116th Street to Nickel Plate Trail Crossing
- On September 5, asphalt paving operations Southbound Commercial Drive from 116th Street to Nickel Plate Trail Crossing.
*Night work will include lane restrictions with flaggers*
Homeowners will be notified via door hangers prior to any curb reconstruction near their home. After ADA ramp and curb reconstruction is completed, those areas will be restored with topsoil and seed. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to water the seed for the seed to germinate. Following concrete operations contractors will begin performing asphalt road resurfacing and additional notices will be provided. Residents will also be notified via street signage for street parking restrictions.

The City of Fishers has partnered with the City of Carmel, Clay Township, Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation, Hamilton County, and Delaware Township to connect Heritage Park at White River and Carmel’s Hazel Landing Park with a bridge over White River. This new amenity will provide enhanced connectivity between the two communities, as well as new recreational opportunities for our residents. Click here for an aerial view.
