The Geist Half Marathon, 10K & 5K, returns for its 17th year on Saturday, September 13, 2025! Operated by the City of Fishers in partnership with Vision Events Management, the race showcases the beauty of Geist Reservoir with stunning water views, tree covered trails, and waterfront bridges. The Geist Half Marathon race series offers a 5K (3.1 miles), 10K (6.2 miles), and a Half Marathon (21.0975km or 13.1 miles). Geist Half Marathon is locally known for its challenging course with hills around every corner, and bridges featuring some of Indiana’s most scenic views.

State Road 37 and 141st Street
The eastside of 141st St. at SR37 is currently closed for the next phase of construction. Traffic has transitioned to the westside, with SR37 north and southbound lanes remaining open. I-465 & I-69
Drivers will see an increase in construction along the I-69 corridor in the coming months. This work will focus on reconfiguring the interchange at I-465 and I-69. New ramps will provide direct movements from eastbound I-465 and northbound I-465 to northbound I-69. Binford Blvd. will also be reconstructed to separate local traffic from traffic entering and exiting I-69 and I-465. Access to I-69 from Binford Blvd. will remain open.
The eastbound I-465 ramp to Binford Boulevard is scheduled to close for up to 60 days beginning next Friday night, July 11, as part of the Clear Path 465 project on the northeast side of Indianapolis. The closure will allow crews to reconstruct the ramp. In addition, lane and ramp closures are scheduled for the weekend of July 11 at the I-465/I-69 interchange for crews to restripe pavement and move concrete barrier wall on Binford Boulevard.
The following closures are scheduled:
60 day closure starting Friday, July 11 at 9 p.m.
- Eastbound I-465 ramp to southbound Binford Boulevard closed
Safe Zones enforcement remains active in the Clear Path construction zone. The program uses automated systems to monitor speeds in specified work zones. The goal of the program is to keep workers, drivers, and their passengers safe by reducing excessive speeding and crashes in work zones. PROJECTS NORTH OF 116TH STREET146TH STREET & ALLISONVILLE ROAD – HAMILTON COUNTY PROJECT
Hamilton County, Indiana – Please be advised, beginning on or after, Saturday, September 6, 2025, beginning at 8:00 AM, drivers should expect the southeast ramp at 146th and Allisonville to be closed. Drivers will not be able to access eastbound 146th Street from Allisonville Road. The ramp closure is expected to be in place until 8:00 PM. Drivers can expect intermittent lane restrictions. 136TH STREET WIDENING – ROAD CLOSUREAs of Tuesday, April 1, 136th Street between Prairie Baptist Road and Cyntheanne Road has been closed to through traffic as construction continues on the reconstruction of the roadway. Access to the homes and Fire Station #97 will be maintained only to eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic will need to follow the signed detour route. 96TH STREET LANE RESTRICTIONS – UPCOMING OVERNIGHT CLOSURES Currently there are two lanes available to drivers Eastbound and Westbound on 96th Street at the Nickel Plate Trail, drivers should watch for intermittant lane restrictions. On the week of September 8 there will be full closures on 96th street from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM. These will be full closures on 96th Street, between Hague Road and Masters Road. These overnight closures are scheduled for next week, September 8-12 and the following week, September 15-19. Anticipated Completion: November 2025 TRAIL CONSTRUCTION
On the week of September 8 the contractor will continue grading along 106th Street from Hamilton Pass to Mollenkopf Road, this will be followed by concrete work. The contractor will be continuing grading and concrete work along the west side of Hoosier Rd. Drivers on Hoosier Road (from just north of Blue Meadow Drive to 121st Street) and 106th Street between Cumberland Road and Fall Road should expect lane restrictions from 9 AM to 3 PM due to ongoing trail construction. Please plan for potential delays and exercise caution in this area. Updates on construction timelines will follow as the contractor refines their schedule. Homeowners will be notified via door hangers prior to any curb reconstruction near their home. After ADA ramp and curb reconstruction is completed, those areas will be restored with topsoil and seed. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to water the seed for the seed to germinate. Following concrete operations contractors will begin performing asphalt road resurfacing and additional notices will be provided. The City of Fishers has partnered with the City of Carmel, Clay Township, Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation, Hamilton County, and Delaware Township to connect Heritage Park at White River and Carmel’s Hazel Landing Park with a bridge over White River. This new amenity will provide enhanced connectivity between the two communities, as well as new recreational opportunities for our residents. Click here for an aerial view.
