I-465 & I-69
Drivers will see an increase in construction along the I-69 corridor in the coming months. This work will focus on reconfiguring the interchange at I-465 and I-69. New ramps will provide direct movements from eastbound I-465 and northbound I-465 to northbound I-69. Binford Blvd. will also be reconstructed to separate local traffic from traffic entering and exiting I-69 and I-465. Access to I-69 from Binford Blvd. will remain open.

Upcoming Short-Term Closures

A traffic shift is scheduled this weekend on I-69 as part of the Clear Path 465 project in northeast Indianapolis. Significant lane and ramp closures are needed on I-69 and near the I-69/I-465 interchange to move drivers onto new pavement and a new bridge.
By 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, traffic will be shifted to new pavement on southbound I-69 between 96th Street and the I-69/I465 interchange. Drivers will also begin using the new southbound I-69 bridge over 82nd Street, marking the tenth completed bridge on the project.

Drivers can expect the following closures:

Friday, Oct. 24 at 9 p.m. to Monday, Oct. 27 at 6 a.m.

Ramp from southbound I-69 to southbound Binford Boulevard closed

Southbound I-69 reduced to two lanes between 96th Street and Binford Boulevard

Northbound Binford Boulevard to northbound I-69 closed at 75th Street

Friday, Oct. 24 at 9 p.m. to Sunday, Oct. 26 at 6 a.m.

Ramp from 82nd Street to southbound I-465 closed

Significant delays are expected, and drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time. Actual dates and anticipated work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances occur.

Indiana Safe Zones

The Safe Zones speed control program remains active in the Clear Path construction zone. This program uses automated systems to monitor speeds in specified work zones. The goal of the program is to keep workers, drivers, and their passengers safe by reducing excessive speeding in work zones. It’s important to slow down in construction zones and drive without distractions. Learn more about Safe Zones at SafeZonesIN.com
