Final Fishers Area road construction report for 2025

This is the weekend between Christmas and the New Year holiday, so local road construction is not so robust this time of year.  But the weekly update does keep us in touch with ongoing projects, such as the resurfacing happening in the Plantana neighborhood, very dependent on the weather this time of year, of course.

Here is the weekly report on Fishers area road construction, as provided by the City of Fishers, for the work week starting Monday, December 29:

STATE ROAD 37 IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

State Road 37 and 141st Street

The eastside of 141st St. at SR37 is currently closed for the next phase of construction. Traffic has transitioned to the westside, with SR37 north and southbound lanes remaining open. Please review detour routes to plan ahead during this time. Thank you for your continued patience and remember to drive cautiously and safely through construction areas.

The contractor has removed the barrier wall along the mainline of SR37. Northbound (NB) traffic has been shifted onto the NB mainline lanes, but the ramps will remain closed for now.

Southbound (SB) traffic will continue to use the ramps until median curb and gutter work on both the north and south ends are complete.
*Southbound traffic on SR 37 will be tapered down to one lane just North of 146th Street*

All construction updates will be posted to DriveFishers on X(Twitter) and 37Thrives on Facebook.  Please visit 37thrives.com to sign-up for email updates. See the detour route here.

I-465 & I-69
Drivers will see an increase in construction along the I-69 corridor in the coming months. This work will focus on reconfiguring the interchange at I-465 and I-69. New ramps will provide direct movements from eastbound I-465 and northbound I-465 to northbound I-69. Binford Blvd. will also be reconstructed to separate local traffic from traffic entering and exiting I-69 and I-465. Access to I-69 from Binford Blvd. will remain open.

Single lane closure on eastbound and westbound 75th Street
The Safe Zones speed control program remains active in the Clear Path construction zone. This program uses automated systems to monitor speeds in specified work zones. The goal of the program is to keep workers, drivers, and their passengers safe by reducing excessive speeding in work zones. It’s important to slow down in construction zones and drive without distractions. Learn more about Safe Zones at SafeZonesIN.com

Long-Term Closures

  • Ramp from 56th Street to I-465 northbound
  • Ramp from Allisonville Road to I-465 eastbound

PROJECTS NORTH OF 116TH STREET

146TH STREET & ALLISONVILLE ROAD – HAMILTON COUNTY PROJECT

Hamilton County, Indiana Effective Monday, December 22,2025, the contractor plans to utilize periodic lane restrictions and ramp closures for installation of incidental construction items within the pavement areas. These restrictions are anticipated to occur during normal working hours thru Wednesday, December 24, 2025. Please use extreme caution while going thru this work zone.

For additional project information, visit the 146th Street & Allisonville Rd. Project Page.

136TH STREET WIDENING – ROAD CLOSURE

Due to the unexpected drop in temperatures earlier than anticipated this winter, the westbound lane of 136th Street between Cyntheanne Road and Prairie Baptist Road will unfortunately not be complete this year.  Access to the single homes and the fire station will be maintained for eastbound traffic; however, the road will remain closed to through traffic.  Access to Abbott Commons and Silverton will be off of Prairie Baptist Road and access to Hunters Run will be off of Cyntheanne Road or Southeastern Parkway.  As weather and temperatures improve, the contractor will be working on what they can accomplish both safely and per specifications.  We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. See a map of this closure here.

136TH STREET WIDENING – SOUTHEASTERN PARKWAY TO PRAIRIE BAPTIST ROAD

Construction has begun on the widening and reconstruction of 136th Street from Southeastern Parkway to Prairie Baptist Road and is currently in the utility relocation phase. Drivers can expect intermittent lane restrictions during this phase of construction. This project will reconstruct 136th Street from Southeastern Parkway to Prairie Baptist Road from a two-lane rural section to a boulevard section with a raised median and new multi-use paths on both sides of the roadway. New pavement, curb and gutter, and an enclosed storm-sewer system will be installed.

PROJECTS SOUTH OF 116TH STREET

TRAIL CONSTRUCTION

During the week of December 29, the contractor will be working on some final punch-list items along 131st Street. Drivers on on 131st street (from New Britton Elementary School to the Nickel Plate Trail) and 106th Street at Mollenkopf Road should expect lane restrictions from 9 AM to 3 PM due to ongoing trail construction. Please plan for potential delays and exercise caution in this area.

All work is weather dependent*

2025 ROAD RESURFACING PROJECT

Ongoing Road Resurface updates:

  • Paving operations are ongoing in Plantana. All work is weather dependent.

Homeowners will be notified via door hangers prior to any curb reconstruction near their home. After ADA ramp and curb reconstruction is completed, those areas will be restored with topsoil and seed. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to water the seed for the seed to germinate. Following concrete operations, contractors will begin performing asphalt road resurfacing and additional notices will be provided. Residents will also be notified via street signage for street parking restrictions.
