Fishers Proclaims Jan. 24 as Indy Ignite Day Ahead of Home Opener

The City of Fishers has officially proclaimed Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, as Indy Ignite Day, recognizing the impact of Indy Ignite Pro Volleyball on the community and women’s professional sports.

Mayor Scott Fadness issued the proclamation this week as the Fishers-based team prepares for its home opener. Indy Ignite Pro Volleyball was founded by members of the local community and is headquartered in Fishers, a point city leaders say underscores the growing role Fishers plays in hosting and supporting professional sports.

City officials praised the organization for elevating women’s professional athletics while inspiring young athletes across central Indiana.

“Indy Ignite represents the best of Fishers — innovation, community investment and a commitment to opportunity,” the city said in a social media announcement celebrating the designation.

The team’s home opener is scheduled for Saturday evening, with pregame festivities beginning at 5 p.m. The first serve is set for 7 p.m. Organizers say only a limited number of tickets remain available for the match.

The proclamation comes as momentum continues to build around women’s professional sports nationwide, with Indy Ignite positioned as a flagship example of that growth in Fishers. City leaders are encouraging residents to attend the game and take part in celebrating the milestone.

Fans attending the opener can expect a festive atmosphere both before and during the match as the community rallies around the team in its inaugural season at home.
