Weekly Road Construction Report for Week of February 2

Even with the winter weather we’ve experienced, there is news on the road construction front.  The city once again is including reminders on how snow removal works and what residents need to know.

Here is the report for the week starting Monday, February 2, as provided by the City of Fishers:

MAJOR ROAD CLOSURES THIS WEEK

    • 136TH ST: Westbound lane of 136th Street between Cyntheanne Road and Prairie Baptist Road remains closed
  • Fishers Landing Drive: Fishers Landing Drive between CVS and Jiffy Lube
  • SR 37 & 141st Street: Daily Closures from 9AM to 3PM

WINTER WEATHER – SNOW REMOVAL REMINDERS ❄

All roads in the City of Fishers are prioritized into groups for snow removal operations on a snow plow priority map.

  • The primary (blue) and secondary (green) roads will receive all available resources. Once cleared, subdivision main (red) and subdivision (purple) roads will receive plow resources.
  • If snow accumulates again on the primary and secondary roads, resources will pull out of the neighborhoods to concentrate on the primary and secondary roads. The subdivision main roads and the subdivision roads will be cleared after the snow event. Getting all the neighborhood streets plowed could take up to 18-24 hours.
  • The Department of Public Works does not apply granular salt in neighborhood subdivisions.
  • To ensure efficient roadway clearing during the upcoming winter weather, we request that you relocate your vehicles from neighborhood streets, if possible.
  • If a mailbox was damaged, we will make temporary repairs as quickly as possible to allow you to receive mail. Please fill out this form: Snow Plow Damage

When snowplows are actively working, please keep children away from snow piles and roadways.

LOCAL ROAD & ROUNDABOUT PROJECTS

146TH STREET & ALLISONVILLE ROAD – HAMILTON COUNTY PROJECT

The new roundabout and bridge are open to traffic. Minor lane restrictions may be needed periodically.

Please drive through this area with caution as construction crews may still be on site finishing up final items through the spring of 2026.

For additional project information, visit the 146th Street & Allisonville Rd. Project Page.

136TH STREET WIDENING – ROAD CLOSURE

Due to the unexpected drop in temperatures earlier than anticipated this winter, the westbound lane of 136th Street between Cyntheanne Road and Prairie Baptist Road will remain closed until late spring of 2026.  Access to the single homes and the fire station will be maintained for eastbound traffic; however, the road will remain closed to through traffic.  Access to Abbott Commons and Silverton will be off of Prairie Baptist Road and access to Hunters Run will be off of Cyntheanne Road or Southeastern Parkway.  As weather and temperatures improve, the contractor will be working on what they can accomplish both safely and per specifications.  We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. See a map of this closure here.

136TH STREET WIDENING – SOUTHEASTERN PARKWAY TO PRAIRIE BAPTIST ROAD

Construction has begun on the widening and reconstruction of 136th Street from Southeastern Parkway to Prairie Baptist Road and is currently in the utility relocation phase. Drivers can expect intermittent lane restrictions during this phase of construction. This project will reconstruct 136th Street from Southeastern Parkway to Prairie Baptist Road from a two-lane rural section to a boulevard section with a raised median and new multi-use paths on both sides of the roadway. New pavement, curb and gutter, and an enclosed storm-sewer system will be installed.

ROAD CLOSURE ON FISHERS LANDING DRIVE

Fishers Landing Drive will be closed on or after January 12 for the first phase of road construction as a part of the Crew Car Wash project. This closure will be in place on Fishers Landing Drive, between CVS and Jiffy Lube. This road closure will be in place three to four weeks, weather dependent.

TRAIL IMPROVEMENTS

As weather permits, the contractor will be working on final punchlist items along 131st Street and 106th Street. Drivers on 131st Street (from Lantern Road to the Nickel Plate Trail) and 106th Street at Mollenkopf Road should expect lane restrictions from 9 AM to 3 PM. Please plan for potential delays and exercise caution in this area.

All work is weather dependent*

BRIGHTSPEED FIBER INSTALLATION

Brightspeed will be installing fiber throughout Avalon of Fishers this week. Work will be conducted in utility easements behind the sidewalk.

NEIGHBORHOOD RESURFACING

Brightspeed will be installing fiber throughout Avalon of Fishers this week. Work will be conducted in utility easements behind the sidewalk.

NEIGHBORHOOD RESURFACING

Due to the unexpected drop in temperatures earlier than anticipated this winter, paving operations have been paused in Plantana.

Homeowners will be notified via door hangers prior to any curb reconstruction near their home. After ADA ramp and curb reconstruction is completed, those areas will be restored with topsoil and seed. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to water the seed for the seed to germinate. Following concrete operations, contractors will begin performing asphalt road resurfacing and additional notices will be provided. Residents will also be notified via street signage for street parking restrictions.

STATE ROAD 37 IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

State Road 37 and 141st Street

**UPDATE**

The contractor is planning daily closures from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday the 2nd through Wednesday the 4th, to facilitate median guardrail installation.

During these times, only the inside northbound (NB) SR 37 lane will be closed. All work is weather dependent.
The contractor has removed the barrier wall along the mainline of SR37. Northbound (NB) and Southbound traffic (SB) has been shifted onto the mainline lanes, but the NB ramp will remain closed for now.

I-465 & I-69
More than 80% of Clear Path 465 construction is complete on the northeast side of Indianapolis. Drivers will see continued improvements in 2026 as new lanes and ramps open, and work continues on the reconfigured I-69/I-465 interchange. The majority of construction will be complete in summer 2026, with intermittent lane and ramp restrictions expected later in the year as crews finish remaining work on mainline I-465, I-69, and the I-69/I-465 interchange.

The Safe Zones speed control program remains active in the Clear Path construction zone. This program uses automated systems to monitor speeds in specified work zones. The goal of the program is to keep workers, drivers, and their passengers safe by reducing excessive speeding in work zones. It’s important to slow down in construction zones and drive without distractions. Learn more about Safe Zones at SafeZonesIN.com
