The construction work on the 131st Street overpass bridge over State Road 37 is moving along nicely, per the 37 Thrives Facebook account.  The project will eventually construct a roundabout on 131st Street in a bridge over State Road 37.

In this first phase of construction, the east side of 131st Street has been open to right-in, right-out traffic, and right turns can be made onto 131st from State Road 37 northbound.  According to 37 Thrives, beginning in late September, the east side of 131st & SR 37 will be blocked for construction.

The entire project is projected to be done by the end of 2021.

  1. Larry, are we positive the projected end date for THIS particular intersection is the end of 2021? Not a typo? Seems awfully optimistic? What with the snow and the ensuing inclement weather in November and December, I would have reservations personally… The pandemic has taught me one thing — it’s not to be overly optimistic about anything!

    1. There is never anything positive about road construction….some come in well before a deadline, others are late in completion. I just try tp keep track of it all as best I can.

  2. The following quote is taken straight from 37 Thrives’ website:

“Construction is complete at the 126th St. interchange, with 146th St. in progress now through mid-year 2022. The intersections to follow will be constructed in the following order:  131st St., 141st St., and ending with 135th St.  The project overall completion is slated for 2023.”

The way this quote reads to me is that the next complete intersection will be at 146 through mid-year 2022, and the next one to be complete after that is the 131 one.

So either one of these two scenarios is true: this quote is correct and is indeed the true state of things OR progress has accelerated at 131st and they are indeed planning on finishing it by the end of THIS year.

Let’s get to the bottom of this. I don’t go to the 37 Thrives website as often as I should, but it seems to me that the updates there are sparse and could use some work
