Indoor football coming to Fishers

My blog is a one-man-band so when I am out-of-town, I miss a few things.  I was on the road heading back to Fishers from visiting family in South Dakota when I found out a news conference was afoot  Tuesday.

Turns out it was big news.  The Indy Fuel Hockey team will be a major tenant of the new Fishers Events Center currently under construction.  Team owner Jim Hallet announced the Fuel organization is fielding an indoor football team to play in the Events Center.

Since I missed the news conference, you can read more about it from Fox59 at this link.

I will have more on this story in the future.

  1. I hope you also inform people of the tax implications and financial impact of the stadium and the expected revenue, if any, from the Fuel and the indoor football league for Fishers. That is the part of the story that folks seem to gloss over in the fog caused by hosting a professional sports team.

  2. Larry I’m off Twitter miss communicating with you but I have a question now that I’ve heard we are getting this league. What is happening with the Kroger rebuild on 116 & Allisonville and also once the city announced HI-v coming to town what has happened to that? I feel like things are announced then nothing happens and those establishments are things we actually need

    1. Kroger is planning on the move across Allisonville, it just hasn’t happened yet. Asked Mayor Fadness about Hy-Vee in a recent podcast, he says there are infrastructure issues being worked out but look for the construction to start in a few months.
