🚧 136th Street Widening – PHASE 2 TRAFFIC SHIFT STARTS JUNE 2

The 136th Street Widening Project will shift from Phase 1 into Phase 2 beginning on or after June 2 between Southeastern Parkway and Prairie Baptist Road.

Traffic Changes

• Through traffic closures within project limits
• New traffic patterns and detour routes
• Continued access for nearby neighborhoods
• Increased construction activity throughout corridor

Project Improvements Include

✔ Raised medians

✔ Multi-use paths

✔ New pavement and curb improvements

Lane restrictions continue as crews begin intersection improvements, ADA ramp upgrades, sidewalk replacement, and traffic signal work.

Cumberland Road Utility Work

Lane restrictions continue between 106th Street and 116th Street from 9 AM–3 PM.

Trail Improvements

Temporary lane restrictions continue near:

• 106th Street at Mollenkopf Road
• 131st Street near Lantern Road and the Nickel Plate Trail

Beginning on or after June 3 all inside lanes at this intersection will be closed for the next phase of construction.

Olio Road & Southeastern Road Improvements

Drivers will begin to see more construction activity beginning June 1st.

Lantern Road Closure

From June 8-19 Lantern road will be closed at Morgan Drive, detour signs will be posted for drivers. Please seek an alternate route.

Neighborhood Resurfacing – Rosewood

Concrete curb and ADA ramp work continues this week, weather permitting. Milling and resurfacing operations will follow.

Upcoming Road Improvements at 116th Street & Allisonville Road

What’s Happening

The City of Fishers is improving the intersection of 116th Street and Allisonville Road to enhance traffic flow and safety. While the project was originally planned as a roundabout, additional analysis showed the improvements could be achieved through less invasive roadway changes. Construction is expected to begin on or after March 30 and continue through October 2026.

What to Expect

• The City of Fishers will be improving left-turn lanes in all, replacing sidewalks & ADA ramps, & upgrading traffic signals to improve traffic flow & safety.
• Business access will remain open
• Intersections will remain open, but drivers will experience lane shifts, restrictions, & slower travel times, especially during peak hours.
• Roadway projects are weather-dependent and schedules may change

136th Street Widening Project Update

The 136th Street Widening Project is scheduled to transition into Phase 2 beginning Tuesday, June 2 (weather permitting). This next phase will focus on improvements between Southeastern Parkway and Prairie Baptist Road.

As construction progresses, 136th Street will be closed to through traffic within the project limits. Drivers should follow the signed detour route using Southeastern Parkway and Prairie Baptist Road to reconnect with 136th Street.

This major improvement project will transform 136th Street from a rural two-lane roadway into a modern boulevard featuring:

• Raised medians

• New multi-use paths on both sides of the road

• New pavement, curb & gutter

• Storm sewer infrastructure upgrades

Motorists should expect changing traffic patterns and additional travel time in the area. Please drive cautiously and stay alert near work zones.

Fishers’ annual Touch-A-Truck event returns to the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater from 4–7 PM.

PERIODIC LANE RESTRICTIONS– 146^th Street and Allisonville Road

Hamilton, Indiana – Please be advised, beginning on or after, Monday, June 1,2026, drivers should expect periodic lane restrictions for median landscaping / final miscellaneous work for the next upcoming weeks.

Drivers should expect increased construction traffic in the work zone. When driving through the construction zone, drivers are encouraged to be vigilant and watch for flaggers.

Please use extreme caution and follow the posted work zone speed limit while driving through this construction zone.

STATE ROAD 37 IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

🛣️State Road 37 and 141st Street🎆

The State Road 37 Improvement Project at 141st Street is now substantially complete, and the City celebrated the official ribbon cutting for the new interchange on May 26.

Motorists should expect periodic lane restrictions and intermittent work activity throughout the corridor as contractors complete final punch-list items and remaining project details, including landscaping and minor finishing work.

Drivers are encouraged to continue using caution in the area while crews complete these final activities.
