
Another very busy period of road construction in and around Fishers for the coming week. Work continues to restrict traffic at two major site, 116th & Allisonville Road, along with Southeastern Parkway and Olio Road. There are many other projects going on as well.
The work at I-69 & I-465, the Clear Path project, is making strides so be aware of constant changes at that location.
Also, note these two important items at the 116th St., Allisonville Road construction site:
- The west leg of Fishers Crossing Boulevard at Allisonville Road will close Thursday, July 23, for approximately three weeks. Drivers will not be able to enter or leave the shopping-center area through that connection.
- A new traffic pattern is now in effect at 116th Street and Allisonville Road. Outside lanes are closed, with traffic shifted to inside lanes and designated turn lanes through early October.
Also, an overnight water-valve replacement near 111th Street and Allisonville Road is also scheduled from 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, until approximately 6 a.m. Thursday.

131st Street Road Closure – July 13-20th A road closure will be in place on 131st Street from July 13-20th for the installation of raised crosswalks. The closure will be located on 131st Street between Sand Creek Elementary and Sand Creek Intermediate.
Drivers should plan ahead, follow posted signage, and use caution when traveling near the area. Access to the schools and nearby properties should follow posted detour and construction signage.
Public Works Construction – 126th Street Beginning Monday, July 13, crews will perform concrete joint sawing and sealing on 126th Street between Parkside Drive and Promise Road. Single-lane restrictions will be in place on both eastbound and westbound 126th Street from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Traffic may be stopped for short periods while equipment enters and exits the lane closures and as crews work through intersections. Work is expected to take up to 12 days and will occur Monday through Saturday, weather permitting. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and allow extra travel time through the area. 96th Street & Cyntheanne Road – CLOSURE IN PLACE Construction of the new roundabout at 96th Street and Cyntheanne Road has begun and a full closure is in place at this intersection. 136th Street Widening – Southeastern Parkway and Prairie Baptist Road
The 136th Street Widening Project has transitioned into Phase 2 This next phase will focus on improvements between Southeastern Parkway and Prairie Baptist Road.
136th Street is closed to through traffic within the project limits. Drivers should follow the signed detour route using Southeastern Parkway and Prairie Baptist Road to reconnect with 136th Street. This major improvement project will transform 136th Street from a rural two-lane roadway into a modern boulevard featuring:
• Raised medians • New multi-use paths on both sides of the road • New pavement, curb & gutter • Storm sewer infrastructure upgrades
Motorists should expect changing traffic patterns and additional travel time in the area and follow posted detour signage. Please drive cautiously and stay alert near work zones.

Road Improvements at 116th St & Allisonville Rd – Traffic Shift Update and Road Closure Fishers Crossing Access Closure Beginning Thursday, July 23, the west leg of Fishers Crossing Blvd at Allisonville Road will close for approximately three weeks, weather permitting. During the closure, motorists will not be able to enter or exit the Fishers Crossing Shopping Center area at this connection to Allisonville Road. Drivers should use an alternate entrance and follow posted signage. This closure is necessary to support ongoing construction for the 116th Street and Allisonville Road Improvement Project. | Overnight Valve Replacement – 111th Street and Allisonville Road
An overnight 20-inch water valve replacement is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, off of 111th Rd. near Allisonville Road. Work is expected to continue through approximately 6 a.m. on Thursday, July 23. Traffic control will be in place throughout the work. Crews will continuously excavate, remove, and replace the valve to complete the work as efficiently as possible. The 6 a.m. completion time is an estimate, and crews anticipate restoring the normal traffic pattern earlier if conditions allow. Motorists should follow posted signage, use caution near the work zone, and plan for possible delays. This schedule is subject to change based on field conditions.

| Neighborhood Resurfacing
Concrete operations continue in the Weaver Woods, Weaver Woods North and Weaver Creek neighborhoods ahead of paving operations. Road resurfacing work is scheduled to continue along 131st Street and Howe Road during the week of July 20, weather permitting. 131st Street Crews will continue patch milling and complete full-depth pavement repairs as needed. Roadway milling operations are expected to be completed, with asphalt paving anticipated to follow. Howe Road Crews are expected to begin patch milling and pavement repairs before continuing with roadway milling. Asphalt paving may begin late in the week and continue as conditions allow. What Drivers Should Expect Temporary lane restrictions will be in place between approximately 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Traffic will be maintained using flaggers and rolling traffic-control operations. Motorists should expect short delays while crews perform milling, patching, and paving work. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained whenever possible. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather and field conditions. Drivers are encouraged to use caution and remain alert when traveling through active work zones. Residents and motorists are encouraged to use caution, follow posted signage, and allow extra travel time when driving through construction zones. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Southeastern Parkway & Olio Road Roundabout Improvements Construction is underway on the Southeastern Parkway and Olio Road roundabout to improve safety and traffic flow at one of the region’s busiest intersections. Currently, the roundabout remains open with no lane restrictions through early August. Olio Road is reduced to one lane southbound. Beginning in early August, drivers should expect lane restrictions, including Olio Road reduced to one lane in each direction and closure of the “5th leg” of the roundabout. | Hamilton County Highway Department
Hamilton County Resurfacing Project Hamilton County is finalizing their resurfacing operations on Olio Road, progressing north toward the Geist Bridge from 96th Street. In addition to roadway resurfacing, crews will complete ADA-related concrete improvements throughout the corridor.
EAST CARMEL PEDESTRIAN SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS: April 1 – early August As of April 1, extensive work has begun on the east side of Carmel to install raised pedestrian crosswalks within several roundabouts along Hazel Dell Parkway and Gray Road. Phase 4 (46-day closure, summer break) NOW OPEN 116th Street and Hazel Dell Parkway Phase 5 (30-day closure) TBD Main Street and Gray Road All raised pedestrian crosswalk installations are set for completion in September, reinforcing Carmel’s ongoing commitment to student and neighborhood safety. | STATE ROAD 37 IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
STATE ROAD 37 IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 🛣️State Road 37 and 141st Street🎆 The State Road 37 Improvement Project at 141st Street is now substantially complete, and the City celebrated the official ribbon cutting for the new interchange on May 26.
Motorists should expect periodic lane restrictions and intermittent work activity throughout the corridor as contractors complete final punch-list items and remaining project details, including landscaping and minor finishing work.
Drivers are encouraged to continue using caution in the area while crews complete these final activities. |
