A power outage affecting roughly 2,000 Duke Energy customers in the Noblesville area has also disrupted service at Deer Creek Elementary School.
Despite the outage, classes are continuing as scheduled, according to Hamilton Southeastern Schools spokesperson Emily Abbotts. Students will be offered a cold lunch while regular food-service operations are affected.
School staff may also use Deer Creek Elementary’s outdoor learning spaces throughout the day. A backup generator is supplying power to portions of the building, allowing the school to maintain essential operations.
No changes to the school’s dismissal schedule have been announced.
Update: Power was restored late morning Wednesday.
