After disappointing season-opening losses, Hamilton Southeastern and Fishers headed into Week 2 hoping to get their seasons on track. Only one of the two Hamilton County schools found the answer Friday night.

Hamilton Southeastern earned its first victory of the season with a 30-14 home win over North Central, while Fishers dropped its second straight game, falling 48-0 to Lawrence North.

The Royals (1-1) responded well after last week’s 54-23 loss at Fort Wayne Carroll, using a balanced effort to defeat the Panthers. Hamilton Southeastern’s defense set the tone, limiting North Central to just two touchdowns while the offense produced 30 points in front of the home crowd.

The victory gives the Royals momentum heading into the early portion of their schedule after opening the season against two quality Indianapolis-area opponents.

Fishers, meanwhile, continues to look for answers after suffering its second consecutive shutout. Lawrence North blanked the Tigers 48-0, one week after Carmel handed Fishers a 47-0 defeat in the season opener.

The Wildcats took control early and never allowed the Tigers to gain traction offensively. Through the first two weeks of the season, Fishers has been outscored 95-0 against two of the state’s stronger Class 6A programs.

Despite the difficult start, the Tigers have faced one of the toughest opening schedules in Indiana. Carmel annually ranks among the state’s elite programs, and Lawrence North entered Friday with an explosive offense that lived up to its reputation.

Hamilton Southeastern’s victory also illustrates how quickly fortunes can change early in the high school football season. After allowing 54 points in Week 1, the Royals’ defense made significant adjustments, holding North Central to 14 points while the offense generated enough scoring to secure a comfortable victory.

Both schools remain in the early stages of the 2026 campaign, with conference play still ahead. Hamilton Southeastern will look to build on Friday’s performance, while Fishers will attempt to regroup and find offensive consistency before entering the heart of its schedule.

Fishers has a home date with the Noblesville Millers September 4, while HSE travels to Avon.

With eight regular-season games remaining, there is ample opportunity for both programs to shape the remainder of their seasons, although the paths have already begun to diverge after two weeks.
