The Cadillac Formula 1 team, whose American headquarters is under construction in Fishers, left Sunday’s Singapore Grand Prix still searching for its first championship points.
Sergio Perez finished 17th and teammate Valtteri Bottas placed 19th in the Oct. 11 race at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. Perez completed 60 laps, two behind winner Max Verstappen. Bottas completed 59 laps and finished three laps behind, according to
Both Cadillac drivers reached the finish after a difficult Saturday in Singapore. Neither completed the rain-hit Sprint race: Perez was involved in a first-lap collision with Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll, while Bottas was caught in a three-car collision involving Williams driver Alex Albon and Audi’s Gabriel Bortoleto.
Sunday’s result leaves Cadillac 11th in the team standings with no points during its debut season.
For Fishers residents, the team’s progress carries a local connection beyond the racetrack. Cadillac’s planned $200 million, 400,000-square-foot headquarters is being built near Indianapolis Metropolitan Airport, west of Hague Road between East 96th and East 106th streets. Plans call for about 300 employees, including engineers and technicians who will assemble the team’s cars.
In February, TWG Motorsports CEO Dan Towriss said the team hoped to complete construction later in 2026 or during the first quarter of 2027. The Fishers headquarters is intended to operate alongside Cadillac’s European facility at Silverstone, England.
At the front of Sunday’s race, Verstappen won for Red Bull, finishing 7.335 seconds ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc. Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli placed third.
Cadillac’s next opportunity to score points comes on American soil in Austin, Texas. The United States Grand Prix weekend is scheduled for Oct. 23-25.
