John Green talks about HEPL controversy in New York Times interview

Author John Green did not just grant an interview with the Indianapolis Star about the Hamilton East Library Board, he also talked with a New York Times reporter about the same set of issues.  So, our local library board is now featured in a national publication.

  1. Publicity like this isn’t going to encourage businesses and people to relocate to Fishers. Shame on County Council and Commission for such poor appointments to the board.

  2. Thank You John Green for supporting access to books! As long as the policy is not fully revoked and books put back to their proper place I hope people continue to speak up about this censorship of teen and young adult to these age appropriate books. Knowledge is powerful and that in essence is what the conservative right want to prevent. They don’t want the future voters to be educated on so many topics but they forget…if you ban it more will read it. I make a point to read and support banned book authors. Don’t forget about the children’s books that were also moved. I am hopeful for the future as our kids know how to access just about anything online so the library shelves are slightly less relevant.
