When I invited Indianapolis-area sales trainer and podcaster Matt Nettleton to join the July 24 episode of Fridays With Larry, we had a lively conversation about his interviews with area business leaders and the paths they took to profitability.

Matt later returned the favor and invited me onto his Default Profitable podcast. Our conversation became the show’s 190th episode.

Matt asked how LarryInFishers.com grew from a volunteer project launched in January 2012 into a small business that now earns a modest profit. We also discussed how dramatically the local news business has changed—and discovered that we share an early connection to the industry: Both of us delivered newspapers when we were young.
